PCA Club Race 2006

Autometrics Motorsports had a strong showing at this year's CMP Club Race.

In qualifying for the Blue Sprint Race Group, Derek Richesin started on the outside pole in his E class 944 turbo. Jimmy Martin took the 3rd position in E, and Rick Brownyard and Harrison Murray rounded out the top 6. In class F, Dave Jaskwhich, Russell Williams and Mike Branning qualified in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively. Slightly further back, Jim Strowd started 8th in F. In the race, Derek and Jimmy held on to 2nd and 3rd, and Harrison maintained 6th. The F class race turned out pretty exciting. Dave held on to 2nd, but the others fell back a few positions.

Gary Pennington and Kim Linville both contested the GTC3 class in the Reg Sprint Group. Gary started 6th in class, and had a great run finishing on the podium. Kim was 11th at the start but moved up an impressive 6 positions to finish in the top-5.

For the Enduro, Cory set an F class track record qualifying Russell's car on the outside of the front row. Jim and Mike started 5th and 6th in F. Derek, Jimmy and Harrison qualified 2nd, 4th, and 6th in E. Harrison dropped one position, but Derek and Jimmy were able to maintian theirs. Cory and Russell lead the majority of the race, but in the closing laps, they dropped to 2nd. Jim rounded out the top-5.

Gary started his enduro 8th and moved up to 6th in the 90 minute race.

In all, we had a good number of podium finishes and an incredible number of top-5s. There was a great group of drivers in our camp this race, and we all had a great time.
