Results :

The Southeast Region NASA event at Roebling Road served as a good warm-up for the Daytona PCA race a few weeks later.  This was probably our biggest NASA event so far with cars in every race and some in Time Trials.

Russell Williams qualified 1st in class and 2nd overall for Saturday’s Lightning group race.  This was Russell’s first race, and he had an excellent run, finishing on the overall podium and winning his class.  For Sunday’s race he did one better starting on the overall pole and going on to another class win.

The Thunder group was the faster of the two race groups, and we had 4 cars competing.  Starting Saturday’s race from the outside pole was Forrest Bowen.  Just behind him was Mac McGehee, 2nd in class and 5th overall.  Russell was pulling double-duty running in this group as well, and he qualified 1st in class and a strong 7th overall.  Dave Jaskwhich would also start 1st in his class.  This was an excellent race at the front of the field.  Mac snuck past Forrest when a lapped car went off, and continued on to take the overall win with Forrest right on his bumper.  Russell and Dave each took wins in their respective classes.  On Sunday’s race, Forrest was on the overall pole and held on to the win, this time with Mac right behind him.  Russell picked up his 4th win in as many races, and 5th overall, and Dave took 2nd in his class.

Cory Friedman dominated the Time Trial group setting track records in TTU and TTR, with Rick Brownyard doing the same in TTA.

Our customers had a perfect score of all podium finishes with 7 class wins and both overall pole positions in Sunday’s races.  This was a fun and successful race weekend and gives us great momentum going into the Daytona PCA race.
