Roebling Road in Savannah is the closest and most frequently visited race track for us. The PCA Club Race in December is one of out best attended events, and traditionally, we can expect impressive results.
The weather was certain to be poor for Sunday's feature race, so PCA elected to lengthen Saturday's Fun Races. Despite the results being unofficial, most racers treated the Fun race as if it was the only race of the weekend. The racing was excellent, and our cars picked up a number of wins and podiums. While the weather was good, Cory set an F class track record borrowing Russell's car for the race. Rick Brownyard also set a track record in his I class 944, and Mac McGehee did the same in GTC3.
The rain we were promised for Sunday did come. Qualifying was wet, and the races were horrendous. Cory, Mike, Harrison and Rick took the top qualifying spots in the group behind an Exhibition GT3. Conditions could not have been worse for the race. I doubt there was a single car that stayed on the pavement for the entire race. Multiple cars, including Mike, hydroplaned off the track on the front straight. Rick had an off early requiring a pit stop to remove some of the mud from the wheels. Cory was leading overall when the rain finally filled enough of the floorbaord to short the ECU and shut down the car. Mike, Harrison and Rick went on to win their classes.
Forrest and Mac took the top-2 spots in GTC3 with Kim and Anthony round ing out the top-5 in class. Forrest went on to take the class win, and Kim collected a podium finish.
Despite the weather, we managed to take victories in every class we had a car entered. It really doesn't get much better than that.
