Airbag
lights when replacing the steering wheel on a 993 with a non-airbag
racing wheel.
Once the Airbag steering
wheel is removed, the entire system (driver and passenger sides) becomes
disabled completely. At this point, the airbag light comes on to
indicate the fault. This bulb is easily removed, leaving only the
central warning light (exclamation point) to come on when the car is
started. This light is turned off by simply pressing the reset
button. Again, even though no lights are on, the passenger air bag
will NOT function.
The stock airbag steering wheel
can be re-installed along with the bulb for the airbag light, and the
system (Driver and Passenger side bags) will become completely
functional again. |
