Autometrics to Run Two Porsches at Daytona

Charleston, SC (Dec. 30th 2013) – Though the holiday season is typically celebrated with days off and late mornings, there’s no time to rest for Autometrics Motorsports as the team prepares two Mac Business Products / Hastings Fiberglass / Porsche race cars for January’s IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) at Daytona.

Autometrics Motorsports and Daytona veterans Cory Friedman and David Baum will share driving duties in the team’s freshly built Porsche Cayman, while hotshoes Remo Ruscitti and Adam Isman will pilot the 2013 Continental Challenge Porsche Boxster in their first event for the team.

“It’s all great news,” said Gordon Friedman, owner of Autometrics Motorsports. “We’ve got tremendous sponsors and drivers returning for 2014 and we have the privilege of adding to these the new and considerable talents of Ruscitti and Isman.  We’re expecting big things.”

With the sizeable resumes of the team’s 2014 driver lineup, expectations are large indeed.

David Baum has been competing and winning behind the wheels of Porsches since 1998 and returns to CTSCC competition after a fast and successful 2013 season.

A longtime member of both the Autometrics Motorsports team and Friedman family, Cory has won club and professional races in all manners of Porsche and has competed extensively at Daytona International including a class win in his most recent race there, the HSR 50th Anniversary of the Porsche 911.

New-to-Autometrics-Motorsports drivers Remo Ruscitti and Adam Isman are anything but new-to-racing as Ruscitti is a championship winning karter and Pirelli World Challenge Rookie of the Year, and Isman is a regular front-runner in the Canadian Touring Car Championship.

“To put it simply,” said Gordon Friedman, “we couldn’t have a better lineup of experience and talent.”

With over 30 years experience building the finest Porsche race cars and engines, Autometrics Motorsports and its customers regularly win professional and club races.  Look for the team to continue these winning ways January 23-26th when the 2014 IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season opens at the Daytona International Speedway.  You can learn more about the team, and follow their projects and progress online at: www.autometricsmotorsports.com
